  • I know I'm zigging where others have zagged here, but I don't get SJCB. It's getting two stars because I'm very pleased that something a little more creative has made it into the depressing PATH selection, and because they sometimes have bacon scones but fundamentally, the coffee is terrible. I freely admit I'm no coffee connoisseur - but I generally like most coffee I try, and I can usually tell when I'm tasting something exceptional (lattes at Ezra's Pound anyone?). Unlike most coffee, I find SJCB's truly undrinkable. I've tried it four-five times now, convinced I must be missing something, but it tastes unbelievably bitter and nasty to me. Burned doesn't even begin to describe it - more like struck by lightning. Plus the all cash thing is irritating. I hate paying taxes too, but it's the price of a civilized society...
