Bought a Groupon for Salon Diva for my fiancé because she was looking for a new salon since her old hair dresser retired. DISCLOSURE: Like with all Groupons we tell the vendor right from the start that we are planning to use a Groupon. This time was no different, we showed our Groupon at the door. Her Feedback in first-person: The Wash ========== - The service felt rushed. - The water was still ice cold and they started rinsing. - I was going mention it but before I could say anything, I she was already half-way through conditioning. - The washer's nails scratched my scalp. I asked for the washer to be more gentle, but it didn't make a difference. It was like they were hearing what I was saying but they just kept going--washing exactly the same way. - She definitely DID NOT "take my hair to heaven" to use another reviewers words... - The experience was more like putting my head in a washing machine and setting it to MAX SPIN. The cut ========== - I brought a photo to show her what style I was looking for. - She barely glanced at it and said "so just your style with a bit of touch up?". - I went along with it because it was clear to me by this point that this lady doesn't give 2 craps about me as a client. So far all my request have been either ignored or met with a "couldn't care less" attitude. - As she was cutting my hair it felt like there was a localized TORNADO/HURRICANE on my head. - This lady is FAST and not in the pleasant way. - The cut turned out okay. Shorter than I wanted. Overall experience =============== The service felt EXTREMELY RUSHED like she couldn't wait to get me out of there. FROM THE MOMENT I WAS IN THE DOOR, to the moment I walked out the salon--20 MINS. I mean this was a wash, cut and blow-out. Now if you're fast and you made the experience enjoyable, pleasant and relaxing then great. But it wasn't any of the above. So overall experienced: =================== - scalp pain - rushed service - apathetic attitude - But the actual cut & blow out was good, so no issues with the TECHNICAL SKILLS of the hair dresser. Will we be going back? =================== No. $75 was their listed regular price and seems on par with other places. But from this experience I will not be coming back. This time I had a groupon, but if I spent $75 I would be KICKING MYSELF IN THE TEETH. People, MARKHAM HAS HAIR SALONS AT EVERY CORNER and probably half a dozen in any given Asian Mall. For $75 there's LOTS of alternatives and you'll definitely be able to find a place that respects their clientele.
