I've heard a lot about Poppy's over the last year and finally decided to make the trip today. Overall experience - it lived up the hype. As told by a friend, there is no need to go crazy here. Just like the key to a good sandwich, the X-factor to really setting it apart is good bread. I ended up getting a bacon, egg and cheese on poppy while my wife went with egg and bacon on an everything bagel. Definitely get the bagel toasted as it makes it a bit crispy on the outside and pulls the entire thing together. Also of the two bagels we got, we both agreed the everything bagel was better as it had a great hint of garlic that wasn't too overpowering. Certainly one of the best (if not the best) bagels in the city.
They have a lot of other fun stuff here from pastas to blueberry muffins that all looked amazing. I'll have to come back and try more of the menu sometime. Also I will give them props for having a quick system. We waited in a long line, but it moved quickly. By the time I paid and was getting my coffee, our to-go bag was already ready. While Owen's still holds my heart when it comes to crazy bagel sandwiches, Poppy's is a solid alternate option that I will be visiting again very soon.
