| - Last time we ate here was 2012 for my father's 91st. Birthday celebration (party of 10). The experience so horrible that we had not returned because of that. Management fixed the situation but we were still gun shy. So, long story short my husband and I stayed at the Camelback Inn on St. Patrick's Day weekend, knowing when we made the hotel arrangements we did not want to be driving on St. Patrick's Day and opted to give BLT another try. I made the reservation on Open Table, noting to restaurant it was a 27th wedding anniversary.
Dinner reservations were at 7:00 p.m., we were greeted and seated at a table outside with a beautiful view. Our waiter came over and we ordered cocktail and appetizers of 1/2 dozen Oysters and the Tuna Tartare (Avocado, Soy-Lime Dressing). As BLT tradition has it, a complimentary Chicken Pate and Popovers were served. For entree's ordered the New York Strip 14oz (medium rare) and the Loaded Baked Potato.
I will come out and say it right now, our waiter totally ruined our anniversary dining experience. He could not have been more impersonable, no introduction was made, no "Happy Anniversary", no personality, very short with us, almost rude like he couldn't be bothered. Meanwhile telling the table behind us he was getting transferred out of Scottsdale location and reassigned to another location (was that the reason he was so miserable?) The Appetizers were very good, the popovers excellent, the New York strip was more medium the rare and the meat tough and at $45 that's hard to swallow, and to end the dinner without an Anniversary dessert "wishing us a Happy Anniversary." I might as well of driven down the road to Steak 44
Thank you to our waiter and steak quality, we will not be back to BLT after giving it a 2nd TRY.
