| - This review is based on a recent, first time visit to Rocket Burger.
Pros
- Friendly Service
- Amazing Cola Selection
- Hole in the Wall vibe
Cons
- the Rocket Burger
On recommendation from the staff, I ordered their flagship burger the Rocket New York which is three patties on a 12 in sub with pastrami, cheese, and cole slaw. No fries (too much food already) and a root beer. I believe I paid about $14 bucks.
So the burger was huge and I was exited to get into it. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the meats. The pastrami was super salty and chewy, and I had to take it off the sandwitch after two bites. The burger meat was low grade, fatty, thin, and had an awful brown-granular texture too it. Fresh meat should have a reddish glow to it. This tasted it like was frozen, defrosted, cooked, refrozen, and reheated. The slaw was drown in mayo sauce. The bread was the best part. Nice sub roll with just enough crust on it. I eat half and had to stop. Not because I was full, but because I was getting an ulcer. I took the other half to go, and toss it. Felt bad tossing it in the store because the staff was friendly.
I will most likely return because of the service and potiental I saw on the menu. Get a single or double burger, on a roll, simple toppings, and a fancy root beer. Hopefully it will be better and I can update this review to a 5!!!!!
