  • I've lived here for about a year and a half now. overall it's a very nice place to live but it does have a few pitfalls. PROS: -The maintenance staff are very pleasant and fast acting. I'm pretty sure they have someone available 24/7 -The security staff is friendly, attentive, and focused on the safety of the building. They always say hi and are willing to have conversation. I personally have befriended a few of them. -the leasing staff is very pleasant. made the moving in experience stress free and were overall very passionate about the building and neighborhood. -The units themselves are very nice, comfortable, and many of them have good views of the river/Jacob's Pavilion/downtown skyline. Exposed brink with open floor plans really allows for a unique, personable living area -Excellent views on roof deck -The open layout of the bottom floors/halls ways give a community feel. being able to wave at your neighbors a floor above/below you is really neat -Being in the atrium makes you feel like you are in a upscale, luxurious building. -The building throws ~3 parties a year, providing free food/drinks and further contributing to a community feel. -The location is amazing. Walking distance to placing of employment downtown and to great nightlife/dining -very pet friendly. i feel like at least 1/3 of the building has a dog and i love it. :) CONS: -The gym could be a lot better. I understand that I can roll out of bed and go to the gym without stepping foot outside, which is nice, but every apartment building downtown these days has a gym a a lot of them have facilities that are better than the bridgeview gym. the equipment is old, some of it nonfunctional, and the weight room leaves a lot to be desired. -the management staff is hard to get in contact with. I called them about an issue for two days straight and they never got back to me. had to go in and talk to one of the ladies in the leasing office. I don't know if this is their fault, but the hill immediately south of the building on St. Clair gets VERY slippery during the winter (like, dangerously slippery) and it's very rarely salted. -the internet is terrible. i had the at&t guy come in and tell me that they cannot give me better than 12 Mb/s, despite what the at&t website advertises, based on the technology in the building. For the stuff I do (gaming and streaming video), that is simply not enough. -At least one elevator seems to break every month. -they time maintenance/mandatory inspections kind of poorly. Don't do fire alarm testing on a holiday (i.e. veteran's day). Don't give me a week range of when you are going to inspect my apartment, especially if i need to lock up my dog. Don't let the water stop working at 6PM on a weeknight. Overall, it's a reasonably priced (for the neighborhood) apartment with great features and a great community. Sure there's room for improvement, but it's a great place for the 20-something young professional crowd.
