| - I've been in the market for a new hair stylist, let alone salon. After doing recomendations by friends and getting poor results I decided to take matters in my own hands; and be the nerd I am professionally, and spend time researching to find a place. This is how I eventually ended up at White Lotus. Get ready for this experience.
After I found White Lotus; I sent an email from the 'contact us' on their web page, (about 10 pm on a weekday) asking about visionaries, etc, what was it based on etc. (since after learning a BAD lession that just cause a place charges a day's salary, doesn't mean it's good). I received a reply about 15 minutes from the owner, answering all questions, providing additional information that was in the spirit of what I was asking, but not pushy, not sales-y just the facts. I expected to receive an email within a week, not within 15 minutes. So points on the immediate response, even a couple of days would have been good response, especially with all the information that was provided. I called the next day for an appointment.
I walked in, and the receptionist greeted me with a friendly warm greeting, not the snotty greetings most full service salons provide. She was also tackling something with scissors, and immediately apologized for her attacking the package she was trying to open. We laughed, and again, friendly, warm and cordial. She informed me my stylist was running a bit behind, and made me as comfortable as possible.
I went to Beth. (She had great reviews on Yelp). She too apologized more than necessary, and I actually had a consultation. She listned to what I hated about my hair now, I didn't walk in with a picture or "please do this..." attitute, but just, have free range, and this is what I didn't like.
Well, 45 mins later I was in heaven. She fixed the cluster of a 'designer hair cut" I had paid $235 only a month before. (yeah, lets not go there). There was a front piece that I was a bit hesitant for her to cut shorter, and she didn't refuse, indicated if I wasn't happy with it she would could it and just walk in and take care of it, it would take seconds to do. Well, I didn't need to walk back, (not to trim that) because she was right, it falls perfect when I styled my own hair the next day..
I now have a mani/pedi appointment, so hopefully that visit will be as pleasant as my haircut with Beth.
The salon is great - friendly, open, elegant and classy without pretention. HUGE range of Bumble and Bumble products, so how can you go wrong!!
I will definitely be going back.
