| - I came to Dentalworks because it was the only place that my insurance accepted in my area. I was hesitant to go to what I perceived as a doc in the box style dentist.... I should have trusted my gut. The office is bland and cheap looking. There is paint chipping off the walls in places and it all together has a feel like they don't plan to stay in the location long. It's also very noisy, I could hear everything happening in the appointments around me.
The service I received was subpar. I had a tooth that was in bad shape, I was in tears from the pain, the dentist Dr. Boyd I think, recommended Advil. I told her Advil wasn't cutting it at all and she just shrugged! Then I had what turned into eight hours of root canal, over two visits. I literally was given a blanket and laid in the chair for four hours each session.
I had just had a baby a few months before and had someone watching her.... the babysitter fell through on my originally scheduled follow up visit, to place the crown. The front desk staff, who seem to be wonderful despite what's happening in the back, offered to watch my infant while I got my needed work done. Thank god I didn't take them up on that! I'd have been leaving my baby with strangers for four hours whilst I suffered in the back.
I have had a couple other root canals and it has NEVER taken that long to do. It was never as painful as this one was. I felt like I was being punished for having challenging teeth! She was rough with the tools, uncaring to my saying I could feel the procedure, treated me like a drug seeker when I said I needed something a bit stronger than Advil for a throbbing tooth, and seemed to have booked multiple other patients at the same time as me. Why else would it have taken four hours, each time? I'm now terrified of seeing a dentist because this was so awful. I will never darken the door of Dentalworks again.
