| - Nothing special
As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a female who said hello and gave me a hot towel to clean my hands. Then another female walked me over to their iPads where you have to fill out a form for first timers I assume.
I was then handed my itnerary for the day. I had to ask the lady where I go for all of these and she just directed me to an elevator and that was all... I had no idea where anything was as the facility is huge. I also asked her where I could get a cold drink and she advised me I would be able to get one on floor 2. I first went to the change room where it was semi-clean.. was extremely humid in there and the floor was soaking wet, going in there with my heeled boots I almost took a wipe out. Robe on, flip flops given I then proceeding to go to floor 2 to get a drink, as I walked in 2 people greeted me and asked If i had an appt and I said yes, not on this floor I was just here to get a drink.. they looked at me funny and pointed to where I could get a drink... no one was there to serve you or tell you what drink was what.
I then went to floor 3 where my massage was- i opted for the 50 min sweedish massage.
2 friendly ladies greeted me and told me I was a few minutes early and to take a seat, not one of them offered me a drink of water, tea or anything. I went into this waiting area room where I was by myself.
Finally, it came time for my massage.. She seemed okay, greeted my fairly nicely and gave me instructions and asked me what areas I wanted to focus on most. The massage itself was nice, she is very gentle- I was in no pain what so ever. However I felt the massage to be sort of sloppy and rushed. As it came closer to maybe the last 20 min either she was getting tired or I'm not too sure, but the massage became more of a repetition and not much effort was being made. At one point I was thinking "omg, hubby gives me massages better than this" LOL I almost laughed out loud.. I totally told him this when I got home.
The room was SOO outdated and super small- just enough room for the massage bed and the masseuse- it was actually pretty gross. (to be honest the whole facility is outdated but I don't know if thats the look their going for) They should really give their rooms a makeover, maybe add a few inscents, candles, something fresh smelling to make you feel like you were at a spa rather then a doctors office. (the smell of like pool water lingered around the place) There was a random window in the room also that let in TONS of light. The bed was constantly squeaking very loud to the point that my eyes would open up so wide to every squeak, it was so annoying and very uncomfortable. Iit felt as if any sudden movement I was going to fall through ( and I'm a petite 5"3 100lb girl) so lord knows how that bed is still holding up with someone that has a few extra pounds on them. Anyways, massage finished and I finished getting all my stuff and went to checkout. The gentleman that checked me out I believe was their manager, I forget his name but his name tag def had manager on it. I had already fully paid for this service online, so it should of been an easy checkout (needed my RMT receipt and that was it) ... he then went on and on trying to up sell me another 3 packages of over $300, he was actually talking for at least 10-15 min straight and I felt rude interrupting but I almost shut him out after the first minute. Like sir, I just finished my massage, I'm relaxed and felt a little out of it (half asleep) could you just let me be and let me go? I couldn't believe he went on for as long as he did.
Overall, I had an OKAY experience- I don't think i would go back especially given the extreme pricing for just a mediocre massage. I have been elsewhere that I paid significantly less and was given top notch spa services from beginning to end. I always think to give different places a chance, but I wasnt impressed this time around.
Oh, also the day before my appt I was called and advised that the Sauna room was not going to be available. GREAT- another reason why $150 was totally not worth it.
