| - A mixed review...
I really like this Sobeys, a clean environment, a good size pharmacy department, an in-house florist, baker, fish monger, deli, hot food counter and "butcher".
And by butcher, I mean "guy behind the meat counter". I usually get really good steaks here but yesterday was a meat fail. All of the NY strips under glass were cut really thin. I like mine 2 knuckles thick. A good source of vitamin meat.
So I says to the "guy behind the meat counter" (who at this point I thought was a butcher) "Hey guy, can you cut me three, two-knuckles off of that there roast?"
He said "Nope, we don't cut the meat here".
I said "Yes you do, another guy cut me off three just a week ago".
He replied "These are all we got".
I said, "Then I'll take that thicker, marbled one there at the back and if you could please look underneath for two that have similar marbling".
He stared off in the distance and told me "They're all marbled... all our steaks are marbled."
I was about to ask him how he could possibly think that was a valid answer when the one at the back was CLEARLY more marbled than... then I digressed and simply asked:
"Have you ever seen a Wagyu strip steak?"
"Wag who?", he asked.
I walked away.
I had to rant about that guy, thank you Yelp... although I still like the store.
