  • I had a small toilet leak and had Pruitt's out to fix it; they were sent to me through the home warranty company after about a week. The first gentleman who came in to diagnose the leak found that there was a crack in the toilet bowl. He apologized that he did not bring a toilet to replace the broken one. I let him know that I would be purchasing a toilet to have it installed as I did not like the design/style of the toilet that was being offered as a replacement. The plumber then explained that the toilet was worth $150, minus the service fee and $65 paid for home warranty, that I would be getting a $30 cash out towards a toilet. (the home warranty company then called me telling me that I would be receiving $75 credit and corrected Pruitt's quote). I ordered the toilet and had it delivered to the house. Once the toilet arrived, the install appointment was set up for another week out. The toilet sat in the box near the front door inside my house. When the installers arrived to install the toilet the two men grabbed the box and started ripping. The box was extremely well packed and they could not tear it apart. The two of them got on opposite ends of the box, tilted the box up on one end while the other man began jumping on the other end (we have video on our Nest cameras) when suddenly there was a loud noise. It was insane. They still could not get it opened, so they grabbed a knife and opened the box revealing broken bits and pieces of the toilet base that was shattered. The two guys then were on the phone with their company to see what to do. That they would not accept responsibility for the broken toilet is the small matter. The problem is that they then stated that they were here to install the toilet, but since it would not be installed today because the toilet was broken, that I could call them back when the toilet arrived to have them come install it. However, with that call, they would charge me $160 to return and install the toilet. The new toilet arrived a week later but I guarantee you that I did not call them to install the toilet.
