| - My brother brought my mother and me here a while ago after reading the splendid reviews about it. We arrived sometime at night when it was pitch dark, and the place looked like it was straight out of a horror movie: It was dead quiet, and there were no lights around; the only thing to illuminate the dark night was the ominous flicker of the defective red "Open" sign. My mother and I were ready to bolt and drive straight back home to enjoy a dinner in safety, but my brother urged us on, so we reluctantly pushed open the door to Rollin Smoke Barbeque, and boy, did the atmosphere change!
Behind the dingy exterior waits a warm, casual, and welcoming locale that can only be described as a home away from home. The types of customers who eat here range anywhere from families with small children to single men with their buddies. The walls are painted with cheerful people, flowers, and green, and there are TVs for people to enjoy a little bit of entertainment while eating.
Our orders came out quickly and were delectable. The meat was tender, soft, and buttery smooth at the same time, and the flavor was just perfect. At the end of our dinner, the owner even came out to talk to us, asking us if it was our first time, explaining to us how he prepares the meat, and giving us some insight on the Arkansas way of barbeque-ing.
This must have been one of my most memorable restaurant visits, and I love how it ended. Definitely do not be scared off by the awkward storefront. This place is worth it.
