  • As a newbie in AZ I asked around for a dentist. My friend highly recommended Dr. Ryan since her and her boyfriend had been going to him for years. I was seriously blown away. I guess I never had a good dentist in 26 years. I have to say it was a life changing experience. Extreme, I know, but I have never left a dentist's office feeling so educated about my mouth. Vicki was my hygienist and I must say that was the most thorough cleaning I have ever experienced. She even showed me how to properly floss and brush my teeth. As dentistry advances I guess normal dentists do not educate you on the new and improved techniques, but Dr. Ryan's office really takes their time with you. You can tell that they care about your overall health and want to teach you healthy habits that will stick for life. Just by looking in my mouth, which I thought was super healthy, they could tell that I am a smoker, drink a little bit too much, and have a lot of stress. The things they pointed out about how stress was affecting my mouth, jaw muscles, and neck muscles seriously opened my eyes. I never realized that the reason I was waking up with a temporary sore throat in the morning or when my cheek muscles hurt when touched was because I was clenching my teeth. I have since started using a heating pad to relax the muscles like Vicki suggested and guess what... I've been cured! That and a little yoga. I would highly recommend this office to anyone. Everyone there is so nice and fun to be around. Plus who wouldn't benefit from learning a little something while sitting in a chair for an hour?
