  • I am beyond frustrated with this place. I have been going to Alameda Crossing Dental for the last two and a half years and my experience has not been a very positive one. I am completely dissatisfied with the orthodontic treatment I received here. I have an impacted canine on the top of my mouth because the adult tooth never grew in. I was assured by the original orthodontist I dealt with that they would be able to bring the adult tooth down into place. This is a procedure that would have only cost me $400 out-of-pocket, besides the cost of the braces themselves. With that being said, I proceeded to get the braces. 6 months into treatment, I went to have the procedure to extract the baby tooth and attach a chain to the adult tooth that would be brought down into place. When I met with the oral surgeon who was supposed to perform the procedure, he literally had everything ready to go but suddenly told me that he strongly felt this wouldn't work due to my age and the position of the tooth. This was NEVER communicated to me upfront, before I got braces. I originally got braces because I was assured this procedure would work and this was the course of action we were supposed to take. I then find out the next best option is for me to have the adult tooth extracted and a bone graft done, then get an implant -- all of which will cost me an extra $3,900 out-of-pocket! Had I known this is what would have needed to be done UPFRONT, I would have not gotten braces when I did. I explained this to the office manager and they have been unwilling to make things right, or offer a reasonable discount on the procedures I need done. There is a HUGE difference in cost. I asked the office manager for her manger to contact me, which I was told would happen, but it never did. My second issue is that the orthodontist I originally dealt with left the practice, so I ended up seeing a new orthodontist during my visits. Two years later, he left the practice as well and now there's a new orthodontist. I ended up getting my braces off after the second orthodontist who had been overseeing my treatment left the practice, and needless to say, I am not very satisfied with the results. It was not communicated to me that due to having narrow laterals, there would be gaps between those teeth and my canines. Moreover, I don't feel that my teeth are perfectly aligned as they should be, including my front top and bottom teeth. I expressed my dissatisfaction with them and they seemed to brush it off, like my teeth are supposed to look this way. My top teeth also flare out too much, which I also don't like, and they told me this is also normal. Um, no. I don't know anyone else's top front teeth that flare out like this! Lastly, the orthodontist literally only visits the office ONCE per week. If you can't see him on the date he's there, you're screwed and have to wait until the following week or whenever you can be scheduled on a day that he's there. My retainer cracked in the middle and I called the office today to ask if they can make me a new one, and they told me they don't keep their impressions, so I have to come into the office to have new impressions done! WTF? Why on earth would they not keep a record of impressions!!! I then proceeded to attempt to set up an appointment and the only day their orthodontist is there this week is tomorrow. I work tomorrow, so basically, I won't be able to get a new retainer for at least a week. This does me no good if my retainer flat out breaks in the meantime and I can't wear it. I will be royally upset if this causes my teeth to shift in any way!!! Dealing with this place has been a HUGE inconvenience and disappointment and I do not recommend them AT ALL. My 8 year old daughter needs braces and I would have loved for her to go here, had I actually had a positive experience, but I will be seeking out a more experienced orthodontic practice. I do not recommend this place at all when it comes to orthodontics. Dr. Domingo, the hygeinists and all other staff are otherwise very helpful.
