| - Let me start by saying I stayed here during Superbowl weekend. Although the normal room rate is far less than $100 per night, I unfortunately had to pay well over $300 per night for this "inn" thanks to typical money grab price gouging by hotels at Superbowl locations. The fact that I overpaid for this hotel does not factor into my overall rating. Some points below:
- Security: - Other than a lock for your room, there is none. You can walk through the mulitple doors to the outside without any key access at anytime of day. That means anyone not staying there can just roam the halls. In fact, the last night I was at the hotel (I stayed 3 days - ugh!) the police showed up and were screaming in the hallway about someone having a gun!
- Room - Although we did not see roaches like some of the other raters, it was pretty weathered. Dirt around the edges of the carpet. Small TV and the room was 90 degrees at check in even though it was 60 outside. It took several hours for the room to cool off with weak ventillation. The bathroom was recently renovated. It was small but not too bad. Towels and soap were provided daily and bed made. The TV is very small analog type. Needless to say, they need to upgrade. The hallways and stairwells are dirty.
- WIFI - it would connect but would never maintain a connection no matter what device I had. Useless.
- Continental breakfast - No thank you. Did not look appealing at all (cereal, small bagels, bread, waffles...). The coffee was hot and ok. However, no lids to carry a cup back to the room. We went to the Black Bear Diner both days which I highly recommend (see my rating).
- Staff - Friendly. Manager greeted me at check in and the maintenance person checked out my ventillation asap when I complained. However, they would not refund any portion of what I overpaid when I found out they were booking rooms at $113 per night at check in.
I never stay at this class of hotel and was stuck due to the last minute booking of my SB trip. It was only 10 minutes from the stadium. In hindsight, I wish I did some more research and stayed at a nicer hotel further away from the stadium. Buyer beware!
