  • Don't waste your money or time on an AMA membership. We have been members of AMA for many years and are disappointed with their level of service. They have obviously over sold their membership without upgrading their fleet by adding more vehicles to meet the demand. When we have to use them once in 5 years, we can't get service. Over 5 years ago, I had a problem with my car after six on a summer evening and it took over 3 hours to get a tow. We had a problem with our car this morning whereby oil leaked out of one of our cars unto the garage floor to the extent we could not drive it, we were told by AMA that this doesn't constitute an emergency so it will take 3 days to send us a vehicle to tow our car. - or go find another Tow Company. We pay almost $200/year for emergency service - $1000 in 5 years. I am sure we or anyone could get an immediate, excellent tow for that price and in ten years we can own our own tow truck. So where does the members money go? I would suggest not to waste your time and money on an AMA membership and we are seriously considering canceling ours and we suggest you look seriously into what you are buying in an AMA membership. What appears to me is that they are diversifying into other businesses and using emergency membership money to make more money, setting up new offices, etc - you name it and we have to go without the emergency services that we are led to believe we are getting in our membership.
