We bought a used Toyota Highlander on a Friday night, we signed a contract with an interest rate, length of payments and payment amount that we agreed on. Before we left the financing Dept. Carlos Burger mentioned that we would hear from him on Monday about our financing "but everything will be ok". We attempted to call him when we didn't hear from him several times, we left messages with him, the sales manager and our salesman, Will. We never heard from anyone until Thursday when Carlos called with a question about something on our credit history--which they had for almost a week at this point. We called back on Friday and all weekend trying to figure out what was going on. They finally told us that our interest rate was going to be nearly twice as much as we agreed on. We were understandably upset. We were hung up on twice! We finally just brought the car back and we were treated horribly then too.
Bottom line is that they lied to us from the beginning. Will and the sales manager knew our credit history and score on the Friday night we took the car home. Carlos also lied when trying to sell us a warranty. Since the highlander was a hybrid he tried selling us the warranty based on the fact that it would cover the battery. However, in the fine print of the warranty exclusions under the hybrid heading it states that the battery pack was not covered. He literally had nothing to say when I brought it to his attention.
