| - I went earlier this year, and was given sub-par service. Asked for a suggestion for a foundation which was long lasting and had good coverage. Associate walked me over, pointed to a brand and walked away. Didn't help me pick the correct color, didn't stick around to see if I had further questions.
I haven't been back since because of the low customer service, until I got diagnosed with eczema. I did some research, and found that physicians formula would be good for my skin, and was also looking for a moisturizer without certain ingredients. I found out Ulta has that brand, and that's why I came back. There was only one associate helping people, and she was busy applying makeup on someone. I ended up approaching her, asking her if she could help me after she was finished with that customer. She responded by basically saying that she couldn't because someone had an appointment with her coming up. She did ask me what I was looking for. I explained that I had found the foundation but there was only one shade and I wasn't sure it was my shade. She responded by saying she "couldn't color match me" because it was a drug store brand. Not even a suggestion of if it could be correct or not. Every question I had she answered with one or two words, no alternative suggestions, and with an attitude that seemed like I was an inconvience. I started to tear up, because my previously oily skin now is incredibly dry and I now have all these products I need to avoid, and nobody was willing to help me navigate this whole new overwhelming world. At that point she did help me, although a little rushed, by suggesting a few brands and telling me that if the physician's formula wasn't the right color I could bring it back. But it took me crying for someone to help me. That's pretty poor customer service, and since the physician's formula ended up not being quite the right shade, I will probably return it and see if someone at Sephora can help me find a moisturizing foundation without all the ingredients I need to avoid.
