I totally agree with the other person who said they bring out a special kind of rage. I called the store and ordered a service I saw online -- 40mps for $29.95 a month. I bought my modem to avoid the monthly rental and I picked it up myself to avoid the shipping fee. I got my bill, and my bill was for
1. A bundle with television and phone for 88.74/month
2. 10mps (which I had previously done speed tests on because streaming was extremely slow)
3. 9.99/month charges for a modem
4. an activation fee
EVERYTHING, save the state taxes, on the bill that could be wrong was! The agent I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and gave the tone that it was my problem, not hers, and that I made the mistakes. When I asked about the activation fee, her response was, "what about the activation fee?" in a particularly snide tone. Her solution was to add a credit for the modem but she said all the other aspects were my problem, and since 10mps and 40mps are the same price, she's not going to do anything about that. So I have a bill for $115 (5 days prorate) when by my understanding it should be $38.96, and I have to pay the $115 upfront? None of this was my mistake! Horrible customer service. I hate that internet companies have such a monopoly that they can treat people like crap.
