The Chandler area does not have many Dim Sum places to eat and this one just started adding this cart driven lunch program to theirs not too long ago so I figured it must be worth trying.
I forwent my usual place and we headed over here for lunch. (The area is great because Lee Lee's market is in the same plaza.)
Two stars right off the bat for friendliness and I feel that makes a huge difference no matter the experience. However the place had maybe 20 people seated and a few workers who seemed to be quite busy. We had our tea and drinks quickly, and the cart came immediately.
Unfortunately the food was not very good.
We ordered Chinese broccoli, and the fish sauce was very salty making the dish inedible.
We ordered sui mai (pork balls) and it was overly chewy and passed on that too.
We ordered hau goa (shrimp balls) and the shrimp was very dirt and lots of shell. No thanks, pass.
We ordered steamed stuffed buns (bao zi) and the buns still tasted raw and the filling was hardly noticeable and very sweet but didn't taste like anything more that BBQ sauce.
Lastly we ordered the rice shrimp noodle and the shrimp was some version of dried shrimp and not steamed at all. On top of that the rice noodle was very gritty probably using flour instead of rice.
Overall we had a few bites of 5 dishes for $25 and left everything on the table and headed across the street to my favorite local place.
