I was in town and wanted to eat somewhere I couldn't back home. A friend looked this up and there we were. Must be a popular place. There was a waiting list, about 25-30 minutes. To jump ahead a bit, I'd say the wait was worth it.
I thought I had a large appetite. I ordered the pancakes and added pecans, cranberry, almonds....think that's it. Came with a choice of meat and a side. Had turkey sausage and hash browns. Also ordered a scramble egg white and Mac n cheese off the lunch menu. My friend had their special French toast as well as the chicken sausage soup to go.
I blame the night before but my appetite wasn't what I thought it was. I did taste around the plate. I thought the Gouda Mac n Cheese was going to be runny/"liquidy" at first glance. It turned out to be rich in flavor, and was par to my standards. Mac n cheese is always my make or break for an establishment.
I ended up taking the food with me back to VA. The Mac n cheese didn't make it past the NC state line. With everything I ordered, the bill was about $30 or so. There's already been a discussion about what will be ordered next time in town. I see why this place is packed.
