| - A pretty well kept park with paved trails and dog runs, and views of the mountains in the distance. This review is for the dog park section, which seems to have 3 fenced areas. Overall, it's a decent dog run, albeit small in my opinion but this was fine because the dogs in this section were all so small. I met with a friend here and to let my 2 dogs blow off some steam during our family trip, especially after being in a car for most of the day. The dog run is grass based which is nice and doesn't make for as much mess as sand lots, and appears to be clipped fairly low so poop doesn't get lost in the lawn (pet peeve of mine...). Still, some people aren't conscientious of picking up and more poops ended up on our shoes (I go to dog parks at least twice a week in my home area and seriously do not have this problem, but I went to 2 parks just this week and ended up scraping out my shoes. Either Christmas made everyone forget about picking up after dogs or that's just the norm around here). The crowd was mostly friendly and there were plenty of dogs at the time of day I was here (around 2PM, and this was a holiday so I'm guessing it's a good time to socialize on a regular day). Another thing to note is a lack of significant shade, only on the back side where a retaining wall provides some shade and under some young sparse trees. It was already fairly warm in December -- I'd imagine in the warmer seasons there wouldn't be much retreat from the sun. Overall, not bad dog park but could really be better.
