| - I love Fiamma. I love their decadent food. I love their service. I went back there even though they screwed up what was supposed to be vegetarian dish and fed beef to my vegetarian friend on our first visit, and we STILL go there every time we go to Vegas.
Here it is: First visit, it is my birthday, so we all decide we want a fancy schmancy dinner, here we are. Beautiful decor and a menu which appears to serve everyone's food preferences from vegetarians to carnivores who will eat anything which isn't running too fast attract us to this place. Our waiter is incredibly attentive, polite and engaging, is sure to serve the ladies first, etc and points out all the veggie friendly dishes, and those which can be "easily made vegetarian". My gnocchi is so amazing that I let it sit in my mouth because I do not want it to end! The boys order some slabs of meat which appears to be melting apart and they are in heaven because of it. My best friend is raving about her pasta marinara [sans Kobe meatballs to make it vegetarian] and how it is the best tasting sauce she has ever had. A few minutes later, we find out why when her fork strikes a large hunk of cow! We have meat sauce. This woman has not eaten beef in 10 years, and she is on the verge of tears, panicking, and it sets the whole table on edge. We summon our waiter who apologizes profusely and within 2 minutes the manager is at our table doing the same. He lets us know that they are usually very careful to use different utensils, gloves, etc for vegetarian requests and he is profoundly sorry, offers us drinks and desserts all on the house, as well as my friend's amended meal for free. {She LOVED the veggie version just as much].The desserts will send you into a sugar coma and give you a headache too, they are that good.
The next night, we are trying to decide what to do for dinner, and I had been craving that gnocchi all day. Everyone else admits they want to go back to Fiamma! As soon as we walk in, the manager greets us and thanks us for returning in light of the circumstances, lets us know he had a mandatory emergency staff meeting that day to discuss strict rules regarding veggie requests [our waiter later confirmed this without us mentioning it] and once again, desserts are on the house.
We enjoyed a long dinner, and they were starting to close up as we finished, at which point we saw everyone on staff go around to each table setting and hold glasses up to the light to check for spots!
In light of the mistake, the service and attention to detail here was so pristine, not to mention the amazing food, that every time we have a trip planned to Vegas, our reservation at Fiamma gets booked right after the flight and hotel.
