I have stayed at Element several times. I really like it and would happily stay there again - EXCEPT I am bummed by their reservation policy. I made a reservation to stay 3 nights at the end of June (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). I had to cancel the 3rd night. My original rate was $116.night . Suddenly by dropping the 3rd night my rate went up to first to $171/night and then to $161/night. When i tried to understand and spoke to a reservations manager and then to corporate customer service, i was told that it all depends on the computer, and I would have to go with whatever the computer came up with thereby negating my original reservtion. If I wanted to take a chance on the billing deparrtment (in other words a human, presumably) I might be able to get the original rate back. No, thanks. I made a reservation at another nearby hotel that we have stayed at before for a slight higher rate than the original Element rate. Thanks a lot, Element. We were not your best customers, and now we will probably never again be a customer.
