| - They get one star because the waitress was friendly and the first two drinks were good (dragon tail and pineapple margarita). After that, it was just bad, so I'll try to keep this short. Calamari, lukewarm and just "ok". Fried soft shelled crab, room temp. Explanation for crab temp was that kitchen did the fry job while the sushi chef did the plating and garnishing and the two weren't in synch. When I heard that, I thought it was one of the dumbest kitchen workflow plans I'd ever heard of. I mean, the garnish and plating was just the crab on top of lettuce. So, here's a novel idea ... why not do that first and have it ready for when the crab comes out the fryer?! Common sense. Right? Anyway, my wife ordered the seafood hot pot. It came out and some genius heated it in a way that the lid couldn't be removed due to internal vacuum inside the pot. Waitress had to take it back and get tech support to remove the lid. After tasting it, maybe it was God telling us not to even bother eating it. Oh, and did I mention that the menu said it would have snapper, but they put salmon in there instead (farm raised most likely)? I guess they figured we were too dumb to notice :) Anyway, I ordered the spicy basil dish. That was a fail. My wife ordered the ginger pear martini. That was a special kind of fail because it tasted like Victoria's Secret body scrub ... pear flavor of course. To end this on a positive note (kinda), I will say that the fried rice was good; just wished we knew there was a $1 up-charge for that when we ordered it. Geez. Anyway ... not going back.
