| - We have lived in this apartment complex for over 6 years and have seen a number of management teams come and go. This being the third apartment complex in the Las Vegas area that we've lived in since moving here in 2003, I think I can offer an objective review.
The thing that keeps us here is the location -- especially the schools. We've lived on the west side (Summerlin) and on the far north side (Aliante), and although we had great experiences in both areas, had we known what it would be like to live in this part of Henderson, we would have planted ourselves here in the first place and just stayed.
We choose to stay in this particular complex for the following reasons:
1. The location is ideal for walking to the surrounding schools. So ideal, in fact, people who don't live here drive into the complex to drop off and pick up their Lamping students on a regular basis. It's also in close proximity to some great parks and trails.
2. It feels safe. Apartment complexes in the Vegas area, in general, are not your safest dwelling options. However, compared to others we've visited and lived in, it does have a safe feel. If you're going to live in an apartment in the Las Vegas valley, you will need to be proactively street-smart no matter which complex you choose. We choose to stay here because, unlike other complexes we've known, there are many tenants who have been here long-term, and that -- paired with the safer feel of the general area -- feels more secure for an apartment complex. With only a couple exceptions, we have always had good neighbors here.
Many other comments mention that there was a murder here in 2014. If the sense of absolute shock that something like that would happen here that was the overriding feeling in the air here for a very long time is any indication of how unlikely/unusual something like that is for this community, then you can rest assured that it's not at all something that anyone would expect to happen HERE more than anywhere else. I happened to be working on a team that investigated that incident at the time, and can tell you that all data pointed to the people involved being good people with a very disturbed family member. It could have happened anywhere. They were greatly mourned by the community and many people banded together to raise money for the family afterward. This heartbreaking incident is an unfair judging point for this complex and community.
3. The floor plan is the best we've seen. It is different than what we've come to know as the standard in the area. Very fluid and works for our family.
4. The pools are beautiful. They are occasionally closed, but we visit them frequently and love them in the summer. The fitness room is also something we use regularly and appreciate.
Overall, we've been pretty happy here. Many of the comments you may see here refer to earlier management teams, who I'll agree, have not been as good to work with as the current team. But I have found the current team to be accessible and responsive, and our maintenance requests have been taken care of in a very acceptable manner.
Really the only thing keeping me from 5 stars instead of 4 is that we moved in before they started with the current upgrades, and the carpet and cupboards in our unit are not the quality we had in other places. Also, there is tiling in the bathroom that is probably outdated. However, it's my understanding the units currently renting feature much nicer floors and cupboards.
