| - Just did the Nosh tour of Downtown Las Vegas. Heidy, our tour guide, was awesome! She shared insights about the history of Downtown Vegas.
We started at Radio City Pizza where we had bites from gnocchi, Fagioli and a tasty veggie dish. Everything was great! This is one of Fremont East's relatively new food places (it was opened, closed and reopened) and it is a great place with great food (It was my favorite pizza joint downtown when it first opened!)
We moved along to Carson Kitchen and were treated to fried chicken skins with honey and we took an option to order drinks (additional cost separate from the food tour) - they have a seriously good cocktail menu! The skins had seasonings that made them zing and the honey was a great compliment. I ordered the 'Hollywood Boulevard' - their take on a classic cocktail and was very pleased with the complexity and flavor.
Next was Perch inside the Container Park. We had some spicy pecans, tuna torte and a very nice beer. The view is great for performances on the stage (really nice sized stage!) and the food was good. I could see me going through a pound of the pecans on the daily, they were a great balance of sweet and spicy!
We walked closer to the entrance of Container Park for some Cheffini's Hot Dogs. I have to admit, I've been to this place a few times, each time I ordered the Grandfather, which is the daddy of all amazingly loaded dogs, in my opinion. We got a taste of the Cheffini Dog, which was loaded with flavor!
We wrapped the tour up with Jin Ju chocolates. The young lady talked a bit about the company and its focus on quality and keeping it local. We got a sample of two great chocolates and I ended up buying a couple of bars of dark chocolate to take home!
All in all, I would recommend these tours, even a group of locals like us got a lot out of it and got to experience a few downtown joints we hadn't been to yet. Heidy was amazing - Nosh has found a great person to represent them downtown!!
