On a cross-country road trip, I stopped at this DoubleTree next to the PHX airport.
Unfortunately, this hotel is FAR below the standard for DoubleTree. The entire property is severely outdated and showing its age. The elevators are slower than molasses and the rooms are all outside entry (no interior hallways). This is really a shame as DoubleTree is known for their superior quality and updated hotels. Also, the employees seem like they do not wish to work there (front lobby in particular).
The room was nice with a bedroom and separate living area. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. You get two TVs with plenty of channels. However, the bathtub was again showing its age with rust spots around the water knob and on the tub surface.
The restaurant food was OK, though very average. The layout of the restaurant is nice, but the food selection is somewhat limited for dinner.
For comparison, check out the DoubleTree in Commerce, CA or Austin, TX. These exhibit the high standard that these hotels normally live by.
Will I continue to use DoubleTree? Yes. But, definitely not at this location.
