Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing on the wrong day, but how could you possibly go wrong with a mix plate?
For one, I didn't receive the friendly aloha service other reviews have raved about. The girl taking my order was more preoccupied with the cell phone pictures that the older ladies were passing around behind the counter. I took my order to-go, but was disappointed yet again, this time with the food -- it looked unappetizingly bland and thrown together, and a few bites later confirmed all of this. My dad ordered the same and he, too, wasn't a fan.
Other Hawaiian places often have the option of white or fried rice with their mixed plates. The majority of my platter consisted mostly of a sea of white rice with a drowning piece of teriyaki, chicken, and mahi-mahi barely surviving on top. None of this was particularly tasty to me. The chicken skin was fatty and the teriyaki mediocre. The mahi-mahi was the only thing pretty decent...So no, no thanks.
