I can count with one hand how many times I've been to a Walmart. This is not where I'd normally go to get groceries or anything during the day. It's one of those rare trips when somebody asks you a favor to pick something up late at night.
This isn't where I'd get fruits or meat from. I prefer not getting anything food-related from here. I've bought a stop-watch, pillows, light bulbs and laundry detergent from here. There's a reason why the prices are low here and attract a certain crowd. I'm not a fan of how they run their business so they can sell cheaper products but I also understand why people come here.
This place makes me depressed to know this is your American "superstore" where the average Joe spends his money and uses his coupons, etc. Everyone moves so slowly and there is no sense of urgency and order. It's like watching a herd of cows waiting to be slaughtered.
Long lines and only a few check-out counters open. What I find puzzling is the even longer line for express check-out. A regular check-out counter with 5 people with carts of about 30 items vs express check-out lane with 10 people with 20 items or less. Hmmmm...
The layout doesn't make too much sense. People hog lanes and they will not move. It looks dirty and blah. I got plenty of reasons why I avoid Walmart. Sad place. I would normally linger in a store because I get mesmerized by colors but Walmart doesn't do it for me. "I need to get out of here quick!!!"
I was telling our Social Worker in the office about my experience and she was like "girl, what were you doing there on Welfare Check Day?" - like I would know that information?
