| - Coming from a local point of view, for someone who visits downtown often, I find the overall experience at Beauty Bar to be just OK. Let's start by talk about the actual venue, then I will talk about the staff. I will then let you know how my last experience was there last night at the Netsky and Chill concert.
VENUE:
From the outside it looks like a nail salon mixed with a bar, which is exactly what it is during the day. It's got some great artwork inside and a nice layout. Cool vibe, small and intimate, backyard with stage and artwork makes you feel like your in NYC. Definitely has an urban, grungy feel that makes the venue stand out from others. Local entertainers/DJ's are pretty legit to come see. I have always been attracted to the back area with the big stage. If they didn't have the stage, this place wouldn't be as popular. Overall venue rating on a scale of 1 to 10 would be a 7.
STAFF:
Out of all my times going out to Beauty Bar the staff was just average. Nothing special about them. Not like the strip where people go out of their way to provide great customer service. You don't see many of the staff smiling at all, which is pretty sad. I know that it is downtown and it's the culture to have the "IDGAF" attitude, but at the end of the day this is a business establishment. Smile once in a while. The bouncers and door staff have always been legit. Management could use some work on answering their phones once in a blue moon and making sure their websites working properly. Overall score for staff would be a 4.
LAST EXPERIENCE:
Last night was Nickel Beer Night and also Netsky,a well-known DJ that is touring right now had a stop at Beauty Bar last night. A friend and I wanted to go so we went on the Beauty Bar website to see the details. There was a website malfunctions so I tried to call to find more information out. No one answered, during business hours. I called at least 8 times. I reached out to find friends who know staff and I got a hold of someone who refused to help me due to the fact that they are probably ignorant. So I decided to say something at the door that night, I explained my concerns and nothing was done, as expected. I hope they start respecting their business as a business or their reputation will be ruined for lack of professionalism.
