I wouldn't buy a pet store puppy, but I could never resist playing with them before every trader joes trip. Super overpriced but irresistably cute and healthy looking puppies. I used to live in the area, but havent been here in a year or so.
Holy crap the place is now disgusting and it smelled like a rest stop toilet from the moment I walked in. Maybe new management or owners, I don't know but wtf happened? Other reviews put the blame on the teenage girls working there, but that was always their work force.
Puppies were still cute of course, but at least the ones out playing in the pens were filthy little babies. They also had no food or water, and the pen for one was just a plastic kiddie pool with a puppy fence around it.
There were 3 older dogs wandering around loose and I had to tell my friend to watch out for where one of them had peed on the ground.
I'm not going to bother preaching about how you shouldn't buy a pet store/puppy mill dog (which you shouldn't!!). If you're willing to overpay for an impulse purchase, I can't stop you. But I would really suggest not getting it from here.
If they can't even put in the effort to keep a small store like this clean, there's no way they bother researching whoever they're getting their dogs from to make sure they're reputable breeders. I think all pet shops have some kind of warranty, but that doesn't mean they'll pay for your dog's medical bills. If you buy a lemon you can trade it in for another, but what kind of a-hole does that?
