| - Avoid at all costs. I mean it. I'd rather pay a little more to buy from a reputable store than give these crooks my time and money.
I found the store through a Craigslist ad for a Canon 1Ds. I called this morning to confirm its condition, asking the loud person on the phone about its condition, price, and what's included. He was very rude, asking me to read the ad and that would be the answer to my question. I can read. I just needed confirmation of what was on the site before making the 1.5 hour + trip to Thornhill.
Despite the phone guy having clear issues dealing with other human beings, I asked to reserve it. He told me that I would have to make a deposit to hold it, so I have to go and see it. So I made the trip, got there around lunch. It was a very sketchy place with no real storefront. It's a rear entrance that goes into the basement of a hair salon. Three people in the store and the phone guy was busy conning this couple, and the others were gawking about, unable to help me when I asked. After ten minutes of waiting, phone guy told me they don't have it anymore.
This isn't an isolated incident with trying to deal with these idiots. My buddy went back yesterday after he bought a lens there because they charged his debit twice. They refused to do compensate him in any way, telling him to call his bank to settle the issue. And of course, they held his item, but not mine.
Take your business elsewhere if you want to be treated with any sort of respect.
