Other then being the tiniest camera shop in downtown Toronto, Aden Camera is terrific! The place has all your camera needs, whether you shoot digital or film, a knowledgeable staff and best of all, everything is priced well. Many of the popular items here are on sale or are just retailing at a much cheaper price than the competition. I think the only catch might be there no return policy when it comes to sale items. Well, that's what the girl at the Best Buy near them told me.
The sales people here are very helpful but I do understand why someone would say they make you feel stupid. Some "photographers" can be the most pretentious, snooty butt holes on the face of the earth. They forget that most people want to make photography a fun hobby but instead they act like photography is an arms race and if your not carrying the best, you should just hang your head low and go away. I think only music geeks and Mac users* love the smell of their farts more.
My favourite thing about this store actually makes me feel really bad. They keep all their sales on their website and they are pretty well known around the city so it's so easy to get a price match from their store. All you have to do is go to Futureshop or the other big name stores and they'll price match Aden's prices. I got my DSLR by doing this since I was too lazy to get to Yonge street.
*I'm kidding around! Don't call Steve Jobs on me.
TL;DR?: Great Prices=Great Store, plus some photographers are assholes and I'm an asshole for taking advantage of this store.
