Cirque du Soleil dancers performing in a Las Vegas nightclub = Winning
One of the main reasons I chose to go to Light was the fact that they have Cirque du Soleil dancers perform throughout the night. This is probably the smallest club I've been to on the Strip but it's still a good club nonetheless. Going to any club on Halloween night requires a lot of patience because of the crowds and the lines. Luckily, we didn't have to wait in the guest list line for very long. As always, getting on the guest list is worth it because the cover charge is waived for females.
As soon as I walked in, I realized why they named the club "Light." I felt like I walked into a lightshow or a rave. I was stoked to see the Cirque du Soleil dancers hanging from the celling once I walked in. The main bar is on the right as you walk in and the restroom is right behind that. There's another bar on the same level against the far wall. The bars were on the "balcony" level and the level below is dedicated to private tables for bottle service and the dance floor is on the bottom level.
The customer service was OK, the bartenders were nice enough and security sure does their job on the dance floor. The was security present on the dance floor at all times to make sure that there was enough space open for people to pass and also security on the stairs to make sure people weren't stopping to stand on the stairs. Also, my feet were killing me so I took off my sandals while I was on the dance floor and not even 2 minutes later, security came by to tell me I needed to have shoes on at all times in the club. Shucks, didn't get away with it that time but at least I know they're concerned with safety.
The featured DJ that night was Ricky Romero, who was awesome and probably one of the friendliest DJ's I've heard play at a club in Las Vegas. The Light staff came out on stage to throw out those awesome foam glow in the dark Light bars and I didn't catch one but a guy was nice enough to give me his. His girlfriend gave me something as well...a dirty look.
The restrooms were kind of small and there seemed to be a line all night. They had a lot of amenities in the restroom and the attendants spoke very little English. Overall, I'm glad I spent Halloween night at Light. It's a small club in comparison with most LV nightclubs but it wasn't short on fun. LIGHT is definitely a great addition to Mandalay Bay!
