Lucky Nails has been around for awhile and the odd celeb have gone in there with their great Yorkville location.
There is nothing fancy about this place, no lounges or anything of the sort. I've been here twice to get my nails done. Lucky Nails offers bio-gel nails which contain no chemicals, but is pricier than the regular stuff. I think for a new set is $60. The first time, my nails lasted a week before they started chipping and cracking. Full disclosure: My nails grow wickedly fast and I'm hard on my hands. I am lucky if a regular manicure doesn't chip in a day. This time my nails have lasted almost 2 weeks without any chipping.
I'm conflicted on whether or not to go back there again. On one hand, they've always shaped my nails quite nicely, on the other hand sometimes their professionalism is questionable. Like when I complained about the look of one of my tips (there was a pin hole that the airbrush missed) he didn't fix it and said not to worry about it. Or as I was waiting for my nails to dry, he decided to clip his nails right in front of me --- ew!
