| - Dr. Harouni is the Pied Piper, and I've followed her all over town. I first found her at a D.O.'s office at Tenaya. She's an M.D., which I preferred. Then a much better opportunity came along, and she joined another practice. When that place folded overnight, with no warning, she switched to Dignity Health on Charleston. At last, I thought, this is her final resting place (not to be taken literally). Wrong! Dignity decided to open another office in Tivoli Village, and that's where she is now as the sole doctor, with her P.A., Heidi.
What I love about Dr. Harouni is her wonderful tableside manner. No matter how many things I need to discuss with her, she gives me the time to go through it all. I have never once felt rushed.
Though she didn't come to the U.S. until almost an adult, and having learned English only then, it is amazing to note that her English is impeccable, and perfectly unaccented. She is, above all, very, very smart; my experience has proven that it isn't always the case with many doctors. She also doesn't get all holier-than-thou when I come in already prepared with my own diagnosis, at least not outwardly. I have a good fund of medical knowledge and I'm a prodigious researcher, and some doctors can get really nasty even when I'm right.
Dr. Harouni's current location is the closest one for me yet, so I hope this is the end of the line. But if that's not the case, I'll end with a Biblical quote (What, me quoting the Bible???). "Whither thou goest, I will go."
