| - Don't waste your time or money. They give you the run around over and over again, especially if you want a refund. Why would I need a refund? Because in the 18 days it's been since I first put in a service request with them for my dryer and then fridge, NOTHING has been done to fix them. My food went bad day after day as I waited for a repair company to call or come out. Said repair company also had bad reviews, so I called HSA (45 minute hold time EVERY call I made) to ask to be switched to a more reputable company. The service rep was rude to me and told me they don't switch companies based on reviews. Ok, I guess I have to hope for the best.
Surprise, surprise, the company they sent is shady as hell, too. Weird, because they sent a GE rep out here the first time I called for the same fridge, but not this time?
When the repair company did come out 9 days after the dryer broke and 2 days after the fridge broke, they glanced at the appliances and said they'd have to get approval from HSA before repairing. Then they left and I haven't heard from them since then. Today is day 18.
Last week, I fixed the fridge myself after Googling the problem. I couldn't do the same with the dryer and had to buy a new one. So, I'm out almost $700 anyway.
I called them back to ask for a refund of the $75 and for the dryer. They will not refund the $75 because they said that's the fee just for the service company to drive out here. It's ridiculous that a company can do no work and still get paid!
They *might* refund some of the dryer if I mail in my proof of purchase and a letter saying why I bought a new one. *Might.*
I do plan to do that, but won't hold my breath.
I will not be renewing with them or any home warranty company at all. I could use the money I save to hire my own trusted repairman.
