| - We came here a few days ago with some family. We had heard this place was good so we figured we would try it out.
2 aspects I am reviewing: Food and service.
Food: 5 stars.
Service: 1 star.
Average of 3.
First the Food. I ordered the burger with homemade chips (apparently they don't have fries on the weekends?) The homemade chips were crispy and delicious. The burger had great flavor and was cooked to the correct temp (just pink but not red). My husband ordered the breakfast buffet and it was all very good. I tried his Cesar salad and broccoli casserole. I think that the broccoli casserole was the best I've had. It had great flavor and a crunchy top. The buffet is definitely a good option if you are hungry. They have breakfast and lunch options, so many choices available. The milkshakes are also quite tasty. I tried the Oreo milkshake and it was rich and creamy!
Now to the Service: We were seated fairly quickly, so that was good. When the server came to take our order, we asked what was good. She just said the burger. Ok, sounds good we'll order that. The table ordered 3 burgers, 1 buffet and a couple milkshakes. Not a tough order. The burgers did have different toppings requested... (i.e. one wanted lettuce and tomato, another wanted onions and bacon, and the third wanted all the toppings). There was a bit of confusion about the milkshake order. There was discussion about whether they would be ordered at the same time and come out with the meal or later after the meal. It was decided that the milkshakes would come out later. My husband asked the server about the local beers. She simply said she didn't drink beer so she didn't know. Ok, I do understand that, but it would have been nice for her to say I don't know, but I can get Joe Shmoe who drinks all the time to tell you about them. My husband said he would look them up and pick one. She never came back to get his beer order.
When the burgers came out, they were all messed up. It was as if she had taken the order then scrambled it to see how many things she could mix up. Mine which was only supposed to have lettuce and tomato came out with mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, tomato and onion... someone else's who was supposed to have bacon and onions came out with lettuce, bacon, ketchup and mustard and the third was just a hodge podge of randomness. The server already seemed annoyed so I just scraped off my mayonnaise (ugh) and told her it was fine. One of the others in our group sent his back because it was so wrong.
There were only about 8 chips on the plate. It was a tiny amount... it was as if they ran out of chips and just decided to give everyone a couple chips to make them happy.
Finally, during the meal, someone asked if the milkshakes had been made because they wanted to adjust their order. A normal server would have said, no they haven't what would you like. She responded with "no! because you told me not to make them until the end! Right?!" she was extremely agitated that they were asking about the milkshakes. She never came and checked in on us to make sure everything was good...
All in all it was a quite unpleasant experience.
