I was all set to write another restaurant review but holy crap, this morning I had such a great experience at Passport Canada in Mississauga that I was damn near giddy when I left.
First of all, this place USED to be a hole in a sketch mall. It still is in a sketch mall but they moved from the dimly lit maze of the upper office space to a prime, easy-to-find main floor location. It looks similar to customs at Pearson airport.
Unlike my last experience where you moved in the hallway like herded cattle along a narrow hallway with hundreds of others for hours. You walk right into a pre-screening area and then are assigned a number and sent into the next area where you can sit and wait for your number to be called.
10 minutes! 10 MINUTES! DID YOU HEAR ME... We were IN... and OUT... in 10 GODDAM MINUTES. FOR A NEW PASSPORT.
TEN MINUTES!!!!
It took longer to park the car, take the baby out and then find the Passport Office
TEN MINUTES!!!
The staff were plentiful, organized, and moved like a well-oiled machine.
TEN MINUTES!!! TEN MINUTES!!! TEN MINUTES!!! TEN MINUTES!!! TEN MINUTES!!!
You can't even get served in a busy McDonalds in TEN MINUTES!!!
All other government offices should take note. This location gives me faith that there is a God and he is good and kind.
