I had so much anxiety about finding a good curly hair salon here... that it took me an entire year to get over it and get my hair trimmed. Let me tell you, Briahna at Radically Curly had me at "You want a mimosa?"
Finding the salon is going to be interesting your first try because its in a Sola Salon space...which seems to be like Salon Lofts where I'm from...but instead of individual beautician space, there seems to be entire salons all grouped in one space. So I headed in to the Sola Salon soace back to suite #44.
Not going to lie, it's a pretty tiny space...BUT given that you show up as scheduled, they seem to be good at getting you situated in your chair quickly to get on to the hair do'in'. There were approximately 4 stylists with clients in the salon when I went and though it was cozy, it was not cramped. I felt like I had found "my place"...everyone was friendly, other stylists and clients alike.
After confessing to Briahna the torment I had put my hair through with coloring and self trims, it was time to begin the cut. Briahna was REALLY good about explaining what she was doing before and during the cut... and letting me know what the cut would be doing for the shape of my hair. She cut my hair dry and as I had it upon walking in, which was my first sign that she knows what she's doing!
I LOVE MY CUT! The shape of my hair is more defined and works so much better with my curls... there aren't dead ends poking out and about like before. It's exactly what I wanted and the best part was that I didn't even have to reference anything. Briahna used Shea Moisture products which was an additional plus, as that's the natural products that I use at home. I
I love that I've found a curly salon here in my new home city. I was nervous that I'd have to fly back home for hair cuts, but now that I've found Briahna at Radically Curly I don't have to worry! :)
