This is my favorite Halloween event in Vegas. I've gone three years now and I find that they improve each year.
Bonnie Springs is actually an old Western Town with historic buildings built to resemble an old Western Main Street. For Halloween they decorate the town and convert some of the structures in to haunted attractions. This is done with tarp, props, flickering lights and actors. While the decor and props are not over the top the place has a naturally ambiance at night. One of the haunted attractions incorporates an outdoor space which adds to the "horror".
The cool thing is that Bonnie Springs is out in the middle of Red Rock which dates western structures. This creates an inherently scary vibe at night. They play ambiance music to add to the feel of the attractions and there's minimal lights throughout the whole "town".
This year they had four haunted houses , performers and a magic show which was awesome.
you get to the main "town" via a train or a walking trail that's approximately a 1/2 a mile long. The trail is roped off with some path lights here and there ; for the most part your only light source is the night sky. The trail
closes an hour before midnight so I just going to the main town via the trail and coming back down via the train.
There are portable restrooms throughout the town and some permanent bathrooms in some of the buildings. They sell hotdogs and do have some alcoholic beverages. All in all , I really enjoyed my visit. You can easily spend 1-3 hours here and not get bored.
Worth checking out for a scary good time. There isn't much light so plan accordingly if you want pictures.
