| - I came in to their grand opening and the line was out the door!!! I understand that this is a new place and there was a BOGO offer, which explained why this place was slammed. However, I would give this place two stars because the only good thing about this place was their orange chicken and their Thai Tea/ Coffee Horchata!
I came in for the BOGO but the door greeter did not explain the process clear enough. She said we'd be able to buy a drink and get a 16oz from the list of teas on the right side of the menu for free. So my partner ordered an Ube Milkshake with the 16oz Coffee Horchata. I ordered the Mangonada with 16oz Thai Tea. We had a friend who ordered drinks and the orange chicken. As we sat down I've realized that we weren't given the BOGO deal, confused I asked the door greater why and if we could do something about this (this was a different door greater now idk what happened to the other one I just spoke to) she told me that we were supposed to get the BOGO but because we paid for our drinks already we can't have the BOGO deal/ refund. She explained that the line was long and emphasized how we already paid for our drinks so there's nothing she could do about it. Then she said next time we come in we can get the BOGO... but doesn't the grand opening BOGO end soon? So I asked if we can have a card/ type of proof that validates BOGO the next visit we come in and then she leaves for a moment, comes back, and says she can't give us a card/ type of BOGO validation but instead to just come back tomorrow for the end of the BOGO sale... what?! No thanks, I live all the way on the other side of town I'm not coming back for the BOGO sale that I was SUPPOSED to have right NOW. Poor girl was looking at her clipboard and looking flustered as I was asking these questions so I just said it was fine and I thanked her. She didn't apologize, she just said, "alright" and walked away.
I tried my friend's orange chicken and it was delicious! The teas were equally as good. However, I was not a fan of the Mangonada - too much Tajin and I didn't like the taste of it. I initially asked for a refund but the same door greeter told me I am only allowed to have a remade drink... okay I didn't like the drink in general and I am still being provided with the same drink... okay... A wonderful employee, Erica, provided me with a new drink with Tajin on the side and she was super nice and apologetic to my drink experience when she delivered it to me. I really appreciated that. Honestly, even with Tajin on the side it wasn't great. I do not recommend that drink. Ube was okay, it wasn't bad but the presentation was nice. Overall, the two stars is for the orange chicken and teas. Another employee Audrey seemed like she was on her break and when I needed napkins she got up to get me some, which really pushed the second star. I don't see myself coming back here just because the BOGO sale and Mangonada issue frustrated me. It was more disappointing that I drove from the other side of town to try this place that has been hyped up, waited in line for a while to not fully leave satisfied with the products.
