  • I will never go back even if the service is free!! Yes, that's how bad it was. I took my car in because the check engine light was on and asked them to call me at work with their findings. Four hours go by and I haven't heard a thing from them. I call to check and was told it was the gas cap. No big deal apparently it happens all the time. I'm all prepared to pick up my car after work and I get another call from their service person. He tells me I need a new radiator, alternator and belts. I'm a little perplexed since I had just replaced the belts less than a month ago. Something smelled awfully fishy to me so I told them I would get back to them and please don't do any work to my car until hearing from me. My coworker suggested I take it in to her mechanic and just make to see if the suggested repairs really need to be done. I call Showcase back 30 minutes later to tell them not to do anything that I'll just pick it up as it is. To my horror they've already replaced the alternator and it'll cost me xxx$. S**T! I'm pissed but what can I do. It's the end of the day and I feeling a little more calm about the situation. I go pick up my car and am paying for the service. I did a double take - what the service technician quoted me over the phone was well under what they are now asking me to pay. I tried to talk through it explaining my situation and of course the said service technician has gone home for the day. The guy I'm speaking with is speaking to me like I'm some idiot...I was furious. How can they get away with treating someone like this. A day later I take my car into my friends mechanic. I brought in Showcase Mazda's paperwork with the list of items needed to be replaced. The mechanic called me back two hours later saying I didn't need any of it and he's guessing the alternator was necessary either. Moral of the story - don't trust the dealership, they're into make some money and take you for a ride.
