  • Art inspires life. Find your inspiration here. Can you imagine if Mint Randolph, Mint Uptown, and Bechtler (next door) were united in one architecturally magnificent building? Then Charlotte would have a five star museum, a gem that would attract lovers of art from all over the world. But alas, Charlotte has three museums that are just OK individually. So, when you pay admission here, you can visit Mint Randolph the same day or next day (see my review for that). There are fascinating things to see in both places. There is no point in discussing the special exhibitions which I saw (which were good) because other shows may be up when you visit (check their website). This is an impressive building with permanent exhibits of crafts and design and American, modern, and contemporary art. Take some time with some special works - let art take you places!
