| - We adopted a dog they claimed was mellow, house trained and did not require crating during the day. Unfortunately he was not any of these and it did not come to the surface until after we came home. The dog would have accidents every time we left the house, even for 10 minutes, and despite going out for walks just minutes before. After one week of working on house training and slowly but successfully getting him used to being at home alone (with frozen kong, bone to chew, etc etc), I came home to find the entire first floor of my house trashed. At that point, knowing that we realistically could not commit to the training he required (as was communicated from the beginning), and that he likely required a different environment in order to thrive, we decided to take him back. I'm not giving them one star because of the issues we had with the dog, even though I do feel like they judged his temperament incorrectly, but rather the responses I received when returning him. The lady was incredibly rude and looked at us like we were terrible people for not being able to handle an untrained dog. And when I asked if my 4 year old son could pet the dog one last time and say goodbye, she told us "I think it's best if you just leave."
I don't usually write reviews but this left an extremely negative impression. Realistically, a canine adoption is not going to have a 100% success rate, and the rudeness was uncalled for. If I overhear anyone looking for a dog I will be certain to say stay away from here. Maybe they're good with animals but they need to work on how they treat humans.
