  • I guess my only complaint about "avant garde" dining is the cost. Dinner for 1 is gonna run you $25 with tax and tip factored in. Totally worth it, but this is the current trend happening in Downtown LV. Glutton offers a menu of "recreations". Nothing you've never heard of, but everything features an original twist: not just "truffle-oil fries", instead, a heaping bowl of fresh-cut fries smothered in a mushroom/sherry reduction and melted cheese curd." Glutton celebrates fattening fair. Yes, a former whole new parade of comport foods to try, including a brown-butter gnocchi served with slow-cooked pork cheek. It's just a little on the ridiculous side. I do not want a calorie count on this one. When I eat this one, I imagine myself sitting on a porch in Sardinia. A masterful gourmet take on farm food. All of the ingredients a super-fresh, too. The grill is right out and the open. As if the owner is saying, "Look! We ain't reheating s**t from plastic bags here. Our chefs are cooking from scratch." This is a very nice addition to the growing DT business district. My only sadness comes with the gentrification of the area and the displacement of those who can't afford a $9 bowl of gourmet fries, however savory or delicious they may be. But such is life in the city. At any rate, I left Glutton with the taste of braised pork in my mouth and I can't wait to eat here again.
