So a friend (who knew I could use some civilized pampering) had given me a gift certificate from here and I took my Mom. I had made a reservation and before I'd even hung up the phone, I had an email confirmation of it in my inbox! Impressive. We were seated in the purple tea room (YAAY!!) I've been here twice before but had always been seated in the other room (this one had been full or I would have asked) and enviously coveted sitting in the room that is my favourite colour. But I digress..our server was a lovely French woman, friendly, informative, professional! I can't remember which tea I finally chose, but she was super helpful (I'm very particular when it comes to my teas). Our food arrived and the lovely gentleman (manager perhaps?) kindly pointed out what things were warm and suggested eating them first - I appreciated that. The lemon scones were good, sadly the sandwiches were average (I had been craving the more flavourful tastes of the Four Season High Tea). Desserts were pretty good. Everything about this experience was great - but the food was just good to very good. I would like the food to be elevated a notch to match the service and decor.
