| - Jamie, the owner, is amazing. I had been growing my hair out for about 3 months and with Summer fast approaching, had reached the point of either getting it styled so it "looked like something", or getting it cut off in my "usual", very short spike. I found Bangz on Yelp, specifically searching for "Anime hair salon", figuring, if I was going to make a statement, Anime might be fun (if such a salon existed). I called for an appt, related my story and objective, and was fortunate enough to get one with Jamie.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by an environment that said "unique, relax, my house", all without any pretense. Any apprehension I had on arrival (and I had plenty, as the last time I had been to a "stylist" was before my stint in the Air Force, more years ago than I care to count), was eliminated as soon as I walked in the door. I was acknowledged immediately, and all the staff were friendly, welcoming and engaging. When my turn came, Jamie made it clear she wanted to know about me, as well as, my hair style objectives. She made suggestions, explained each, and where appropriate identified options and potential outcomes. After asking several questions and looking at some sketches on the Internet, discussing cut, color, and care, we arrived at an agreed upon objective and we were off! Jamie worked quickly, explaining each step, while continuing the conversation, getting to know me and sharing insights into similar aspects of her experience. I was amazed at how comfortable I was, in (for me) a new salon, with a new stylist, and with a new hair style objective, that prior to arriving, was basically, just a wild thought!
The Outcome: I couldn't have been more pleased! Little maintenance, little product, a definitely "styled" look, with both a unique, artistic flair and yet clearly consistent with the agreed upon Anime theme! Everyone noticed the new look and got nothing but positive comments, without any OMG Looks! Wow! I'll be back, though the cut and color (shhh...) is so good, I'll be interested to see how soon I think that becomes necessary. Thanks for making time for me , Jamie! I truly appreciate it and the environment you've created!
