I've been here a few times but only ever just for after-work drinks and appetizers. We decided to try dinner just last night. Things started off fine. The overall ambiance, noise level, and lighting levels (nicely dimmed) were fine at the bar. The selection of beers on tap were interesting. Things went downhill from there, though. I waited five minutes to get someone to put my name on a table list. Someone did ask early on if I was wanting a drink from the bar and I said no, we want a table. I guess that wasn't their job because then they just ignored me. We finally got a table and opened the menus. The variety of food offered seemed very standard and uninspired - nothing really jumped out as saying "try me". That's a personal preference though so I won't dwell too much on that. We settled on the fried cod since there was nothing else that looked interesting to us. It took a long time to come and when it did arrive the fries were soggy and cold. The three blocks of fried fish looked like they might be Sysco frozen fish sticks. Tearing into them didn't change my opinion. The breading seemed like a dense, hard, tough over-seasoned shell protecting water-logged flavorless cod. My friend and I barely finished it all. We both agreed that this was probably the worst fish fry we've ever had in Wisconsin. I will still come back for after work drinks and maybe appetizers but I will not be coming back for dinner unless I hear that they make some serious changes in their kitchen.
